This architecture, starting from previous work in our group on multiagent systems, has been redesigned and implemented within a research project investigating a particular class of hybrid systems: those integrated by connectionist and symbolic components. This paper describes in some detail the principal concepts of the architecture: the network model and the agent model. Around these models, a set of languages and tools have been developed. In particular, an Agent Description Language (MIX-ADL) has been designed to specify agents declaratively in a hierarchy of classes.", booktitle = "Intelligent Agents II Agent Theories, Architectures, and Languages", doi = "10.1007/3540608052_71", isbn = "978-3-540-60805-9", note = "(A reduced version of this work was published in the Proceedings of the IJCAI'95 Workshop on Agent Theories, Architectures and Languages}, Montr{\'e}al, Canada, August, 1995, pages 216-224.)", organization = "ATAL", pages = " 251-266", publisher = "Springer Verlag", title = "{MIX}: {A} {G}eneral {P}urpose {M}ultiagent {A}rchitecture", url = "https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007%2F3540608052_71", year = "1996", }
